Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20 the 20th of February, 1966) is an American model and actress as well as a television star. In the 80s and 90s, she was a well-known supermodel who was prominent in magazines and runways as well as in fashion-related campaigns. In the following years, she started acting and launched a company. In her sophomore year in high school, she got a call from a local clothing shop concerning modeling, only to discover it was a trick played by two students. But, in the next year, another company recruited a variety of high school students and, in particular Crawford as a model, to take on their work (including shooting a fashion show). Roger Legel, a local photographer approached Crawford to photograph her. He was responsible for shooting another college student in DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was chosen as the first cover. The photograph and positive feedback the magazine received helped make her want to pursue modeling. She started out with an agency with a small size. Elite Model Management bought it shortly after she signed. At 17 years old she took part in Elite's Look of the Year contest and was able to make it to the finals at national level.
